End of an awesome Journey, man.

I started recording NBC’s Journeyman to give it a go but quickly fell behind when I had to give higher priority items my limited and valuable time. Well a few weeks ago I caught a vicious cold and at the height of my sickness I called into work and found that I had all day to watch TV. I more than just “caught up,” I became a fan. It was some of the most enthralling and moving television I’ve ever experienced.

Today, I watched the best episode yet. However, I didn’t realize till now that what I just saw would be the very last episode of the series. Strangely though it did feel like an ending. I thought that endy feeling might be signifying an end to just the season… not the series. For some reason, though, I like the idea of having just one tight season as the entire series. Like you can share it with people easier. I know already that I’ll be buying this series (hope it won’t take long to release the DVDs) for myself and as a gift for numerous unsuspecting friends. In a way it feels like this gem of a show is my secret. A secret that my friends are going to be thrilled to learn. And until I just looked it up, I didn’t know it had been slipping in the ratings. It’s mind boggling how this show kinda came and went with out much fanfare. In a lot of ways, it’s heartbreaking to feel like something so amazing can be so overlooked… but I guess it’s not surprising. The American audience is not known for its intelligence or patience, so once again we have to say goodbye to one of the best shows in TV history.

And I gotta just mention that the way it’s shot and graded is top notch… and of course in HD it’s just a beautiful looking show. I plan to make this show my reason to buy an HD DVD player.

A great review from September

Wasn’t this show just a big budget version of The Rewinder? You should sue those bastards.
